MIGUEL A. CULASSO, M.D.
Internal Medicine – Slidell
Dr. Miguel Culasso earned a Doctor of Medicine in 1971 from the National University of Córdoba in Córdoba, Argentina. He completed an internship at the United States Public Health Service Hospital in New Orleans in 1974 and a residency in internal medicine at the Hospital Iturraspe in Santa Fe, Argentina, in 1975. Additionally, Dr. Culasso served as an emergency room physician at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, where he later completed his residency in emergency medicine in 1977.
Following completion of his residency, Dr. Culasso entered private practice. He has been practicing internal medicine in the St. Tammany parish area for more than 40 years.
Dr. Culasso is board-certified in emergency medicine.
PHILLIP H. EHLERS, M.D.
Family Medicine – Baton Rouge – O’Neal
Dr. Phillip Ehlers earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in St. George’s, Grenada, and completed his medical education at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Family Medicine Residency Program in Lake Charles, LA. Dr. Ehlers has been in practice since 2009 in Walker, LA; first with the North Oaks Health System and most recently with the Our Lady of the Lake Physician Group. His medical experience also includes practicing as an Urgent Care and Emergency Medicine Physician in the surrounding communities. Dr. Ehlers is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, as well as a Board Member of the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians.

MICHAEL MCSWEEN, M.D.

Dr. McSween earned a B.A. in 1978 from Lafayette College in Easton, PA and a Doctor of Medicine in 1982 from New Jersey Medical School. He completed his residency in Family Practice in 1985, at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine, Ghent Family Practice. Following completion of his residency, he served in the National Health Service Corps for over 3 years in private practice in Lafitte, LA. He has been practicing family medicine on the Westbank in Jefferson Parish for over 30 years. He joined Primary Care Plus in September 2015.
VAUGHN R. MEINERS, JR., M.D.
Family Medicine – Baton Rouge – Perkins
Dr. Vaughn Meiners completed medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, and then continued his medical education at St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency in Jacksonville, FL. Before joining Primary Care Plus, Dr. Meiners spent 8 years in private practice as co-owner of Fountain Family Medicine in Jacksonville, FL, with his wife, Dr. R. Kim Meiners. Dr. Meiners is board certified in Family Medicine and has served as principal investigator on several research studies. He has a special interest in men’s health, diabetes management and cardiovascular risk management, including treatment of lipid disorders and hypertension.
KEARY O’CONNOR, D.O.
Family Medicine – Westwego
Dr. Keary O’Connor, a Michigan native, earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri and completed her family medicine internship and residency at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
After residency, Dr. O’Connor worked in private practice in Michigan but subsequently volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army as a commissioned officer on active duty. She served both stateside and overseas, deploying to Kuwait, Iraq and Germany. She joins Primary Care Plus following completion of a posting as a civilian physician in Germany, where she served active duty military members and their families.
Dr. O’Connor is board-certified in both family medicine and obesity medicine, and is pursuing her master’s degree in clinical nutrition from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York.
Her academic memberships include the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
BRAD J. RAMSEY, D.O.
Family Medicine – Baton Rouge – Perkins
Dr. Brad J. Ramsey earned his doctoral degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA, and completed his internship and residency at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He served as an attending physician at Wayne General Hospital, also in Mississippi, for just under two years before joining the Valley Emergency Physicians Fellowship in Walnut Creek, CA. In 2016, Dr. Ramsey returned to his home state of Louisiana. Prior to joining Primary Care Plus, he split his time between working as an urgent care physician at Lake After Hours in Baton Rouge and as an emergency physician at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, MS. Dr. Ramsey is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians, and the Mississippi State Medical Association. He holds certifications in advanced life support and critical care.
Thaddeus Temple, M.D.
Internal Medicine – New Orleans – North Broad
Dr. Temple earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1978 from Southern University at New Orleans and a doctor of medicine in 1983 from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans. In 1986, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Charity Hospital and at Veterans Affairs Hospital. Before joining Primary Care Plus, Temple served in the National Health Service Corps for four years, worked at the City of New Orleans – Saint Bernard Health Clinic for 13 years and practiced internal medicine in the Gentilly area for more than 30 years.
JOHN H. VOCKROTH III, M.D.
Internal Medicine – Gretna
Dr. John Vockroth earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Scranton and a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, WA. Following completion of his residency, he served as staff internist with Ireland Army Community Hospital in Fort Knox, KY. Dr. Vockroth has practiced in the greater New Orleans area for nearly 14 years. He joined Primary Care Plus in 2013. Dr. Vockroth is board certified in internal medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Louisiana State Medical Society and the Jefferson Parish Medical Society. Dr. Vockroth is a participating provider for Medicare, Peoples Health and most health insurance plans.
